Despite the numerous accomplishments achieved by the international women’s rights movement, women and girls around the world are still being discriminated against  and subject to human rights violations. Child marriage, rape as a weapon of war, sexual slavery, forced labour, unequal access to education and political participation are only a few of the abuses women face. Entrenched patriarchy in communities, states and nations prevent women from making deeply personal choices in their private lives.

In the menu you can find a non-exhaustive list of international legal instruments enacted to protect the rights and improve the lives of women and girls everywhere. We focus on international & regional treaties; violence against women; human trafficking and armed conflict.
